I'm not seeing how to separate the 2 species. PJH123 - Why have you gone for P. laevis instead of P. formosalis ?

Phytometra laevis

We have a Conservation Area which is monitored regularly by an experienced birder who lists species on eBird. You may be able to find this under 'Clover Leigh' Crowther. There are 114 species so far listed, but gang-gangs are. not among them. I have been here 28 years and have not seen one. My neighbour, who is a parrot aficionado, has not reported any. I have, however, seen Black Cypress cones that have been 'scarified' but do not know which parrot it is (just yesterday as it turns out). Assume it is the white cockatoo, but maybe galahs. If it is gang-gangs, they are sneaking in (and out) at night.
